Partial Album list Gheorghe Zamfir is a Romanian Jazz musician. He studied in a Music School and the Jazz music at the Bucharest College of Music in the mid 1950s. Later, he continued his studies at the Academy of Music in London in England, the Conservatoire in Paris and the Royal Academy of Music in London. He made his debut in 1969, in London. Since then he has recorded 16 albums in several countries (USA, UK, France, Netherlands, etc.) and 6 CDs with his group. He recorded a series of album with the trio Mercury with the guitarist Al Di Meola and the bassist Alphonso Johnson between 1982 and 1990. Since 1991 he is a member of the trio Accoustic Music composed of himself, the guitarist Adrian Guerzoni and the bassist Gary Peacock. In 1992 he released the album The Fantastic Gheorghe Zamfir, which is considered his masterpiece. Gheorghe Zamfir is a Rumanian musician, an artist that first appeared in the 1970s, having a career more than 40 years, of which he made important contributions to the history of the jazz in the countries of the former “Iron curtain”, which began with the group We are number one. After a stop in Italy, he settled in London. There, he also recorded in the groups Singing Spurs, Mercury, Gheorghe Zamfir Trio, National Arts Award and the group Accoustic Music, for which he won a series of awards in Belgium. He won the French (Angers) (1990), the Belgian (1995) and the British (1997) critics awards. He is one of the most distinguished musicians of the jazz in the world.
